Our Nutritional Supplement Guide
The following are nutritional supplements that my wife and I take including the rationale for taking them and the sources for them.
How much to take depends on whether you are in the wellness zone or the chronic disorder zone. If you’re in the wellness zone, take maintenance amounts, which should be the label quantities. If you’re in the chronic disorder zone, take therapeutic amounts. A starting point for therapeutic amounts may be twice the label quantities.
Disclaimer: These supplements do not cure, mitigate, or heal any health problems. Health improvements are the effects of the body’s cells having the resources they need to function properly.

The Herxheimer Reaction – Feeling Worse Before Feeling Better
Some people may experience a Herxheimer Reaction when starting a nutritional supplement program. The Herxheimer Reaction is a short-term (from days to a few weeks) detoxification reaction in the body. As the body detoxifies, you may experience headache, joint and muscle pain, body aches, sore throat, general malaise, sweating, chills, nausea, a metallic taste or other symptoms.
This indicates that the body is detoxing. Some people assume the supplements are making them feel bad and stop taking them. They are thereby discontinuing the very treatment that is helping to make them better. Although the experience may make you feel sick, the Herxheimer Reaction is a sign that the body is in the process of healing and repairing itself. One option is to take smaller amounts of the supplements until the discomfort has stopped.
